Hello!
With Valentine’s Day approaching fast, it is my pleasure to announce the Valentine’s Day Writing & Art contests. Winners will choose an organization or charity to have money donated to in their name. Everyone is invited and encouraged to participate, both by entering the contests and/or voting for winners!
❋ Submissions are now open! Submissions will close at midnight Central Standard Time, FEBRUARY TENTH.
❋ Voting will open FEBRUARY 11TH, and will close at midnight Central Standard Time, FEBRUARY 14th, Valentine’s Day.

RULES FOR PARTICIPATION:
Do:
✓ Keep things positive. While this is a contest, and I encourage you to bring your all, any rude or hostile behaviour will not be tolerated. This is just for fun.
✓ Vote based on the pieces, not the people who wrote or designed them.
✓ Offer constructive criticism afterwards, if the artist invites it.
✓ Encourage others to participate
✓ Label trigger warnings in your entry, if there are any.
Don’t:
⊘ Openly criticize submissions until after the results are posted, or at all if the artist does not request it.
⊘ Pick an organization or charity associated with racism, sexism, or other discrimination; Pick an organization of charity associated with crime (For example, anything like the KKK or Proud Boys will result in your submission being disqualified. I will give you a chance to pick a new organization or charity if there is an issue with yours.)
⊘ Steal other’s work.
⊘ Violate site rules with your submission.

❋ Please only submit new pieces, and only your own. Anyone found to be plagiarizing will be disqualified.
❋ You CAN participate in both competitions, but you may only win one. If someone happens to place in both, they will be awarded their higher ranking title, and the next runner-up will move up a place. For example, if you win 2nd in the writing contest and 3rd in the art contest, you will be awarded $15, and the person ranking 4th in the art contest will be awarded $10.

I have a question.
I started a piece of art before the contest started, and I just realized that it would fit one of the themes very well.
I'm still working on it, but since I started it before the thing was started I don't know if it would be considered "new"
Also a bunch of users here have seen pictures of some of my progress on it, so I don't know for that part either -
I'll accept it since it isn't finished.

What if you have absolutely no idea what charity you want to do? Can I just leave it up to you which one it goes to?

I'd prefer if you picked one. Maybe a hospital like St. Jude's, or something like that. If you want to wait until after the winners are announced to pick one, you may, if you just need more time. You can also just tell me what kind of charity/organization you'd like it to go to. (Something for homeless people, something for climate change, ect)
