Mei pretty much said everything I would have said.
Another important toxic trait I can think of is someone trying to control you. And there's multiple examples of that...
- If they want you to change who you are to "meet their standards"
- "Punishing" you if you don't do exactly what they want you to do
- Wanting all of your attention / trying to keep you from talking to other people
So on, so forth -
Controlling is the trait I despise the most

I think people can become toxic but sometimes it’s like a choice. They’re purposely choosing to make people unhappy for their own happiness, and they know that but still won’t let up. -
Or if they have never shown interest in you other than when you do something that they like and they’re all over you.

I agree with what everyone has said so far, but Spices poll made me think.
Some people who are around toxic parents, and have been around that their whole life see that behavior as normal. Now, that being said, as that kid/teen grows up I do believe it is their decision to change their behavior.
