Like yesterday I got a rlly bad allergic reaction to my guinea pigs, which like everyone else in the family is also allergic to-
Like lowkey depressed about it but my parents are talking about giving them away.
Ngl but it’s bad for everyone and even though I love them to death giving them away would be the best for them.
So we’re thinking of getting a better pet in their place.
All rodents, reptiles, birds, and cats, are all animals we can’t get. Since my mom hates reptiles and all rodents, and birds are apparently not super easy pets. Plus my mom’s allergic to cats. And she’s also allergic to some dogs which is why we’d need another hypoallergenic dog. (Like floofy Paco)
BUT- we’re thinking of getting a bernedoodle. Except there’s a good chance we’ll be allergic since it’s a mix of Bernese mountain dog and a poodle.
And I’m looking at good alternatives if we happen to drift away from the Bernedoodle idea. -
I found these so far- (pros and cons)
Yorki
-Small and honestly adorable
-Fun and active
-Probably a good fit for the dog we have right now
-They can be aggressive towards strangers (both dogs and humans) if not trained correctly
American Hairless Terrier
-Kinda cute ngl
-Supposedly active and incredibly friendly
-Easy to train
-But it’s bald.
Italian Greyhound
-Very active
-Our backyard would be perfect for it
-Would get along with Paco
-Incredibly intelligent
-Majestic 🤩 -
Frogs. I love frogs. Frogs r adorable
Honestly I wouldn't even try go for a Bernedoodle if theres a high chance yall are gonna be allergic. It puts a lot of unnecessary stress on not only your family, but the bernedoodle too if u end up adopting and having to give it away again . Unless u can somehow like, test for an allergic reaction beforehand -
Yeah, we’d definitely go visit the breeder. Since there are different generations (F1, F1B)- we may be less allergic to certain individual dogs
-
Late but the hairless terrier looks adorable
-
It does ikr 😩❤❤❤
But my mom hates hairless things -
Italian greyhound
might not be so bad cause there a short haired breed
there also quite a amazing breed -
Yeah 💔
I’ve always wanted a non-fluffy and cloud-like dog, and Italian greyhounds are literally PERFECT. -
i would recommend a dachshund, but they are very clingy creatures.
-
I’d love a dachshund, but as far as I know they aren’t hypoallergenic and I’d be sneezing so much
-
Fish
Warning: Since apparently we're all moving in with you, I might eat them -
yea, they aren’t, lol.
-
Schnauzers
-
Poodles
-
We have fish already, and they aren’t interactive 🥺
Like trust me I’ve tried to pick my koi up 50 times and I’ve only gotten a lovely smack in the face from it
