What would being a "best friend" entail?

The definition of a best friend is a person who you value above other friends in your life, someone you have fun with, someone you trust and someone in whom you confide. The first person you call when you get good news or want to go out for a bite to eat is an example of your best friend. noun.
This is a thread of best friends. I choose my soulfriend, though.
A soulfriend is a friend I will never leave. I value them more over best friends, friends, and I see them as a part of my family/me. -

For me, best friends are my equivalent to soul friends most of the time
To me, a soulfriend is someone who would always be my go to person, someone that I would trust and love openly. Kind of like a soulmate, but platonic. -
A soulmate is different, in my opinion. Soulmates are love.
Soulfriends are friends.
To me, a soulfriend has all the good traits a best friend has, but more. They'll always be there for me, listen to me, fight for me, and I'll do the same for them. I'll finally have a shoulder to cry on when I find my soulfriend. -
I think I've found some soulfriends then ^^
