Thread Topic: Uhhhhh wtf?
-
I went to an auto tune website and a page popped up saying that my phone battery had gotten infected and that if I closed out of the window then it wouldn’t be fixable. So I closed out of the window thinking it was a scam (I’ve gotten these messages before and it’s been fine) but now my battery is going down 1 percent every minute and I’m freaking out.
-
Are you sure you aren't just hyper analyzing the battery after seeing that screen? The message was definitely a scam, but idk if you actually have a virus or if you're just overthinking it.
-
GUYS PLEASE HELP ME
-
Turn off your phone and let it rest for a bit. Or plug it in and then turn it off after it has some charge. If it does have a virus, you'll need a professional to fix it.
-
Similar messages about "viruses in the battery" have been circulating for many years and are as inaccurate now as they were then. Batteries cannot get viruses.
-
^ i'd let your phone charge completely without using it and then see.
-
yeah, batteries cant get viruses. it's a scam
-
I did what PointlessDreans said, and now it’s working fine. Usually 1 percent goes down I’d say every... 6 minutes? But with that “virus” it went down a lot shorter than that.

..I literally told you to do that first, but lol

Either way, look on the bright side
When im not on low battery mode:
My phone battery goes down by 35 within 1 minute
Another 40 or so the next 6-10 minutes
And then 25 within 2.5 minutes -
Also, u didnt specify if you came across the virus via comp or via phone,
If it was phone...
iphones rarely get viruses, don't worry
