Honestly I relate to your situation though. We sold our house and are now looking for a new one.

i don't quite think that's it. i'd take it as a sign that there's something better for you, and you just need to keep looking.

I was practically told that I don't have a chance. I feel like I should look for houses for rent until I'm ready to actually buy one.

renting loses you $ in the long run though, and you'll be very restricted

ahh.. well, make sure not to make a rash decision. continue to look at your options and consider the pros vs. cons and such. i have full faith you'll make a good choice for you in the end
