How do you do tab for google docs on a phone? Trying to write a story and can't figure out how to do tab.
-
In the Google Drive app, within a Google document, there are two indentation keys in the top status bar. You'll need to scroll right to get to them. The right one works just like Tab, and the other is for Shift+Tab.
Also:
1. Put your cursor before the space you wish to indent
2. Hit enter to create a blank line of text between your first line and second line.
3. Click the "A" with the three horizontal lines next to it
4. Go to paragraph section
5. Click the button that has an arrow in the middle of the text pointing right (it usually will indent the whole portion/paragraph)
6. After doing this remove the space between the two lines that you made in step 2.
This works because it recognizes the first and second line as separate when you format it. -
I'm not seeing any indentation keys, for the first one.
For the second one, it indents way too much. -
I saw a source that said it doesn't work on android phones, but this was last year, and things may have changed since then.
-
Oh wait, nevermind. I tried the second one again and it worked.
Thank you! -
On the top right corner, there should be an “A” that sits in between the + and the •••.
Click that.
The indentation type you prefer is in the middle row. -
Now how do.I do it so that it doesn't indent every single line?
-
Back space and it should then stop indenting every line
-
I tried that. I tried backspacing the indent in the next line, and it backed up to the last word on the previous line.
Maybe if I hit backspace then enter, it'll work. I'll have to find out tomorrow.
