Bounty hunters and mercenaries are NOT the same thing, okay?!
As an enthusiast, and someone who considers the career, I HATE it when people say they are so nonchalantly.
Um, no. I can tell you the difference if you don't get it. -
Bounty hunters don't usually work for military or military-like groups. And they don't serve under any kind of high-ranking leaders. You pay them and they'll do what you want but how THEY WANT.
Mercenaries focus their hire on military groups and other large groups.
Mercenaries are associated with armies, mainly, and hunters are not. -
But...I say this because my annoying-as-heck brothers keep saying bounty hunters and mercenaries are totally same.
Totally not.
I tell them every time, but they never listen. -
I was worried this was directed at a certain user, and I was like.. "oh no" LOL
-
XD
No. I did this because we had another argument about this yesterday. -
I know, Ike and the Greil mercenaries are nothing like bounty hunters
-
Exactly, and Nintendo portrays Samus incorrectly. She's technically more of a mercenary than a bounty hunter because even though she prefers to work alone, she's often being hired by her old military force, the Galactic Federation.

I've luckily only ever used the concept of a bounty hunter, so I've never had need for the term mercenary. But now I want like 10--
-
I literally only know what a bounty hunter is from Star Wars
Don’t kill me for it -
You guys are making me laugh.
@Cham: Bounty hunters are real, though. You don't hear much about them, but they are real and perfectly legal. They're not all greedy and evil as usually portrayed. They can also be like adventure-seekers or citizens who want to take matters into their own hands. There are lots of reasons bounty hunters aren't all bad.
