Request this permission for your primary account here.
1. Your account must be at least a year old.
2. Your account must be verified through the Discord. No alternate accounts will be given this permission.
3. Your account must be in good standing on the site. Final say goes to the mods. -
What if we don’t have a discord?
-
it's a free service. accounts are easy to make
-
You'll have to make one, sorry. We need a way to verify primary accounts.
-
So it’s more of a verification thing? Then couldnt I just post a screenshot of me logged into my account here? Because let’s say for instance, someone hacked my account and can now post as me, couldnt they just take a screenshot, go to the discord, get verified like that, and then bam, someone who’s not me has just been verified on the discord.
lol I don’t know if that made any sense and there’s probably something about discord that I don’t understand, but hopefully you’ll get what I’m trying to say, and can explain it further so I can understand -
You could, but then you could also come back in some alt accounts and do the same, and then bam, you and five other accounts under your control have the ability to delete posts. Using Discord ensures that you can only verify one account.
-
Ohhhhhh
Can you only make one account on Discord? -
there's a way to see how new accounts are, and if they're email verified or not, idk if they're using this method
-
Wait, so if you have multiple emails then you can make multiple accounts? Or is there a way to see what the email you use for discord is the same as the email for your account here?
-
......yeah, now that you mention it, that might not be the ideal method either. I'll bring it up with the others.
-
there is a way to see how new the account is, if they set up a server with a certain bot. you can see when the account was created, if they're emailed verified. also they stated they're not giving permissions to alts, users who have been here less than a year. so it would be pretty hard to get multiple accounts verified anyways.
-
not sure if that made sense or not
-
I actually have made extra emails for alts
-
on discord you can still use a bot to see when the discord account was made
-
Alright, we're not going to change the Discord rule. There's really no way for us to 100% verify anyone, but going through Discord does make fraud more difficult, and that's all we can ask for.
