My aunt works at Effigy Mounds. She's a nature fanatic. We've gone there tons and tons of times.
I remember walking to South Dakota a couple years ago. There was a park there, and we walked across the river that was on the border of NE and SD.
There's been a bunch of other things, too. My aunt has made sure we know our stuff about nature. -
I grew up in a national park. It's cool for like the first month and then you just kind of...want to see something else haha
-
Here’s a moose and Denali:

I’d love to grow up in a national park, it beats where I live right now. I’m in this planned community in Texas and it sucks. I guess the houses are really nice and cool but the only wildlife is raccoons, foxes, coyotes (very rarely), and there was one wolf in the entire history of the place.

It's a Bob Ross painting!
It has its mountains and happy little trees and happy little clouds, and a body of water. -
Good on your aunt. I’m the first one in my family to really like take off and start going to all these parks
Yeah, I can see how you’d want a change of scenery though. Like after my first day being here, I’m like “okay, I’ve seen enough bison and elk” -
I grew up at the Grand Canyon. We had coyotes, deer, elk, porcupine, squirrel, mountain lion, bear, owls, hawks and eagles. Oh and rabbits. And thats just what I would see on our property.
-
Yeah, you go and get super exited to see your first herd of elk and bison.
But then you start wanting to see different animals and you get super sick of the elk and bison. -
I got really lucky because the person who drove us up there said she’s never seen it that clear before and she’s been working there for eight years
-
We would have to hunt elk 3 times a year to fill our freezer with meat for the winter...which I prefer elk to deer...and every time my dad would shoot one it would snow...every time...
-
I would actually really like to see a porcupine. I’ve never seen one before
I think because bison and elk are usually within groups and not by themselves, that’s why I’m like I could care less if I saw another one of them.
But I still find eagles really cool to see -
I prefer elk over deer too
-
We’ve got a few bald eagles in our community. It’s super cool, they fly above our house a lot.
-
I also think armadillo are pretty cool
-
Aww I love wolves
