He has a tottal of 5 ports on his spine that specialized vials of magic can be inserted into to replenish his reserves. On this structure are 6 vents(the peices that stick out) for if he has too much magic in his system. He also can project magic out of those vents to form extra appendages, usually wings or tentacles

Hes actually an idea that ive been toying with for a long time, but could never figure out how to get if to work in a way that made sense. I actually got the idea from a creature in the game Ark, called a Seeker. When a Seeker enters an area with light, vents open up on their back to release exess light. Thus where the idea started
