in all seriousness, piercings are quite small, so it’s almost like a needle, getting a shot.

I think in the needle. Because they use a hollow needle to pierce your ear and it's kinda long so it wouldn't surprise me if it's just in the needle. Unless if you get pierced with a gun. Because then that just pushes that section out of the way

my ears were pierced w a gun, which i only have my lobes and my left helix.

I've had my helix pierced with both a gun and a needle. I highly recommend the needle for cartilage piercings

You got lucky then lol mine was fine for about three years but then I started getting fed up with it hurting when I laid on my left side (both of my helix piercings were on my left ear. The one with the gun was higher up than the one with the needle), so I took it out sometime late last year, and my hole closed up after about two weeks of the earring being gone, but I'm now able to lay on my left side no problem.

mine only hurts if i hit my ear on something, or whatever. it’s never been infected or anything. it’s never hurt really.

Shoot that's good then. I think mine was probably just placed in a bad spot on my ear because as soon as I got it pierced, it hurt for like five months afterwards and swelled at the back (it has since gone down since I took it out) and then it was okay and then when I got the other piercing, it might've just inflamed my previous one because it started hurting again. But for the one with the needle, it only hurt for about 5-10min after being pierced and then I couldn't feel it at all

Really? I felt like a burning sensation and just thought "this was probably a mistake" lol did they check to see where your veins were?

I don’t EVER want to get my ears pierced.
