(It's like those two always agree with each other)
-
? When are the other times that we have agreed with each other? I don't think Stardust and I have actually had a conversation before
-
Please do not make remarks about anyone, guys. Asking for clarification is fine, but please please please, do not be rude to each other.
-
All I wanted was a clarification on why they agreed to DoA's comment. Still waiting for it lol

(She was referring to me.)

Please I've never talked to Daughter of Apollo before.
Don't even know their name.
What I meant by agreeing with them is that I agree with their reasons as well.
The Stage is meant for roleplaying. And often the Lounge gets too much traffic. As I understand it, the Stage didn't exist until the Lounge was getting too much roleplay in it, and so the Stage was created so the Lounge didn't get overcrowded. If you're going to make threads to roleplay, do it in the Stage.
I would also like for the Lounge to not get too crowded because I don't have the chance to be constantly checking in with GTQ. So much seems to happen when I'm away during the day.
But I also agree that if you want to roleplay in your personal thread, then by all means go ahead. -
....so you're agreeing with a petty reason when honestly without a few personal threads for the lounge is deader than a June bug on my windshield.
And the threads that they post in the lounge aren't roleplaying to begin with? They just are casually talking. -
I am also going to have to agree with Megan.
The Stage was *made* in the first place because back then people complained that there were too many roleplaying threads and not many actual threads made by real users. Am I the only one who remembers this? People complaining that they want to have conversations, but couldn't because all there was was roleplaying threads? People also mistook OCs as "real users" and they use to get scolded for it.
Roleplaying in your personal thread is fine. But its different if you make a thread in the lounge to role-play an OC having a conversation. It's still role-playing. -
I haven't been here for long, and I don't know if I'm active enough to count in this, but I feel like the light role play threads should be allowed in the Lounge. I've noticed at times that the first page in the lounge can change in an instant, say for example if someone is in twelve or so Role Plays and decide to update them all in one sitting. That can easily bury or shuffle a Role Play one or two pages back. From the sounds of it, as well, light roleplaying threads used to be a common occurrence and I don't see why it should be a problem. If you want to have a conversation thread, make it. If you want to have a thread where you mess around, then make it. I can very easily see the Lounge dying if all the roleplaying is moved to the Stage, and personal threads seem at times too personal to join to interact with someone who is looking to light Role Play in
-
i agree that roleplay belongs in the stage. i’m often confused when oc accounts post in the lounge and i mistake them for new users or alt accounts. roleplaying in a personal thread is completely fine with me though, because the owner of that thread should be able to decide what’s posted there as long as it abides by the forum guidelines. anything else should be posted in the stage.

I think that roleplaying in the Lounge (like the interactions of OC accounts and that jazz) is fine so long as nobody's invading anything (e.g. someone else's thread)
If it becomes to big of an rp (e.g. use of asterisks and a plot) then it should be moved. -
Can I ask what the big issue is, when an oc/character is mistaken as a new user? That's still a conversation and a potential friendship, so I don't understand the issue there.
-
Its confusing and difficult to keep up with when lots of regular users (not rp) like to name themselves after their favourite characters too.
I think the general userbase enjoys knowing when theres a new user or who they're talking to. Its hard to keep track of everybody when half the ppl in here are just roleplaying other characters -
I also think that the main issue though is when multiple RP accounts start talking to each other as that character that they're portraying.
With being mistaken as a new user, adding onto what Acrimony said, it can be a little disheartening to be talking to someone and then learn that they have been lying about who they are and that it was all an act to them. You don't actually get to know about the user behind the account
Also, I don't know if it's just me, but there really just seems to be an influx of RP accounts in the Lounge in just this past week. I never really noticed it before this past week -
That is why we are bringing up the issue. The user base has changed over the years, and with change in users comes a change in opinion. We're trying to figure out if the community is just as split as the moderator base.
