Yes, police officers should stop killing people based off of their skin color. And yes, it should be protested.
But when people start breaking into businesses and setting buildings on fire, then that's when the actual message of the protest gets distorted. Many people have already been injured and at least three people have died (one being a federal officer and two being civilians). I'm sure that more people will die and more damage will be be done to these cities. And I'm really just venting here because I don't have anywhere else to go, so feel free to ignore this. A protestor threw a brick at a horse and blood was running down the horse's face. A civilian was defending a store from looters in Dallas via machete, and he ended up getting surrounded by protestors and beaten up to the point of unconsciousness and he is now in critical condition at the hospital. Setting cop cars on fire is just idiotic because they're just gonna use your tax money to buy a new one and not only that, but we are in the middle of a pandemic, so those stores that are being broken into and being looted, are already suffering from a lack of business due to quarantine and social distancing. I will be very surprised if COVID-19 cases don't spike up in the next couple of weeks. Just be careful and safe people. Protest peacefully and stop burning businesses down and stop destroying your own community. -
In other news, we're going to be putting my dog down soon, so that f---ing sucks
-
Also, I don't understand why people are role playing here in the lounge? Take that to the stage because that's why we have these specific forums
-
Atlanta's going down. Hopefully no one here lives there and if they do, then I hope they're staying safe
-
i agree with you. yes, it is horrific to kill people based off of their skin color. yes, it should be protested, but peacefully. there is now curfews in my town which is near dallas because of the protests. and in the midst of this pandemic? wow. just crazy. f---ing insane, man.
-
i live less than an hour from atlanta.
-
Yep yep. Peacefully protesting gets the message across. Rioting tarnishes the message
I hope everything is okay where you're at and things aren't too crazy -
Saw a video of an old white woman getting beat up by a group of black men because she was standing in front of her store and trying to stop them from breaking in and taking her stuff. So they decided to start swinging on her and one of them picked up a wooden board and started hitting her with it.
If it was an old black woman getting beat up by a group of white men then everyone would be up in arms and calling them racists, but when it's switched then no one cares about the skin color -
I think it'll calm down in Minneapolis tonight since theres gonna be 7k national guard guys out
-
I think we all want justice for George Floyd's death, but that's going to take time. Especially since everything is moving slow because of the pandemic
-
Damn, Minneapolis ain't playing around no more. Good for them. Hopefully they'll be able to keep everyone calm and no more damage will be done
-
I think that every rioter caught on video needs to be prosacuted after this is done
-
its honestly not about the murder of george floyd anymore. it was, until people went from peacefully saying that what the officers did wasn't right, to hurting anyone and everyone.
-
my aunt and uncle lived in minneapolis last year, but they moved to texas with us this year.
-
They really do, but I doubt that'll happen. They might be able to get some people, but I don't think they'll be able to get everyone
Hopefully y'all are in a calm part of Texas. They were showing videos of peaceful protesting in Austin
