I actually believe the reason it's been such a hold up is because they do have restrictions on their moderator roles, which is what the mod told me when I asked why don't they ban people. Which is what I was trying to say before.

We were still trying to figure out how to do it and if we could. We also didn't want to do it without community input. We're still people too, trying our best with what we have when our admin has abandoned us.

This time actually isn't different at all, so I'm not sure what your point is. She's always insulted the mods the most, and we've always penalized her the least for attacks on us specifically because we didn't want anyone to think we'd act only in our own interest. Our motivation for bringing it up now comes from frustration knowing she's had all this time to correct her behavior and hasn't improved. I wanted to treat the subject more objectively- as in, no her site has mods that are hesitant to take action against a user like her just because they don't want to appear self-serving- and this is the conclusion we came to.
