(Not everyone can win that if they're not supposed to be here....)

Maybe instead of picking a genre for the story, we pick a theme? Ect: Love, Hate, Loneliness, Happiness
And any genre can be used? -
Maybe. I'm open to the idea.
-
You can always say a friend gifted you the card & ask if your parents are OK with letting you purchase something on their account!
I like the idea of theme instead of genre -
I also think winners should be voted on through a poll. But I don't want it to be skill based. I want it to be based on who clearly put in the most effort & best fit the prompt. That way we aren't excluding people by skill level!
-
I think having more genres will add diversity, and be more comfortable. Try to figure a creative way to implement a theme? If we have stories about totally different things, how can we judge what deserves to win?
-
I think my only concern with gift cards, now that I'm thinking about it, is that I can only provide US-based ones. Unless cards for sites like Amazon work internationally? I'll have to research that
-
That's a good point.. I'm not 100% sure
-
Maybe a poll for the theme?
Hm. I didn't think about the monetary issue for other countries. -
Maybe it'll just be opinion based. Like, "Wow, I'm reading this and I think it is a strong concept for such and such a theme" while keeping in mind that it's not off of skill?
-
Yeah, it's more about the story, not the vocabulary or the grammar.
-
I can do a poll for themes!
I didn't either until Jeesh posted LOL -
