The swelling in my throat is pretty bad and my chest feels like. Something is. Not right
What kind of stretches can I do to hopefully alleviate some muscle cramping in that chest area?
Also, should I go ahead and take an extra dose of prednisone (steroid meant to help reduce swelling)? -
Maybe you should try massage the area gently and drinking honey water, which helps to sooth throats.
-
Warm honey water? Or more hot than warm?
-
Probably warm, because you don't want to burn your mouth or throat.

"the force is strong in you, young Jedi!"

Ok, I'll give it a try. Or maybe I'll make tea and put honey in it, idk.
I'm trying to not freak out, but I just really think something is wrong that isn't fixable with medications. The way my chest feels; I'm at a loss for what's going on with my body rn :/ -
I hope you feel better soon •u•

I am worried. When is your next followup appointment, if you have one?

Ty
I don't have one. My primary care doctor told me to be patient and give the mediation a week to kick in, since my ear infection has caused a lot of problems in both my throat and chest. Both urgent care doctors and the nurse practitioner who saw me falsely said that my symptoms "didn't make sense" and had "no cause," so for about a week I've been taking pretty much useless medication. He's the first to diagnose it as an ear infection, since he took the time to get the right gear to check deep down my ear. But we have no clue what kind of damage the unchecked ear infection has caused. There's a high chance there's fluids in my lungs, which is what is causing the feeling of a board in my upper chest/shoulder blade area.. -
I just don't want to keep going back to urgent care if I can help it. But I do want to know if these feelings are things that will be reversed with antibiotics & the prednisone, or if I need a special procedure to be done. Every single doctor has been rather dismissive of the severity of what is going on because at a glance, everything looks "fine", but that's because the problems are so deep in the throat and in my chest where it can't possibly be seen normally. :/
-
wtffff I'm so sorry. how long has it been since you started the medication?
-
My symptoms started 4/21
I got prednisone and anti-stomach acid medication 4/24 (finished the prednisone & stopped taking the stomach acid medication for now)
I received antibiotics and a numbing agent, both of which I had a very BAD allergic reaction to, 4/25. I had to stop taking the numbing agent immediately, but didn't stop the antibiotic until 5/1
I received 2 new antibiotics & more prednisone 5/5
So for this batch of medications, I've only been on them for one full day. And I was told it would take a minimum of 5 days to see any improvements. But this swelling and the strange lumps and now the chest pain— it's unbearable -
Make sure you're being monitored in case you need to go to the ER but otherwise I wouldn't risk increasing the dosage until the 5 days is done :/ I'm so sorry dear

My mom had been sleeping with me on the couch, but tonight she figured it wasn't going to be bad since I was "talking normally". My parents don't seem to understand that while I can breathe okay, that doesn't make the swelling and strange symptoms any less uncomfortable or potentially dangerous. We're limited on information or a clue as to what's going on.. At times, it's hard to drink or eat. I want to cry a lot, but I fear I'll further block my passages with snot and sidjdjdjd just. Argh.
I promise I will go to the ER if it gets to a point where I can't breathe or something is shutting down, but I'm hoping it won't come to that case and that these medications will kick in as intended. Only time can tell though. :(
