It doesn't help me that so many people have the same aspirations as me. I'm not special, and my work is going to have to be some next level s--- in order to get any attention. It's hard. I haven't lost my motivation to try yet, though. So that's something.

I have this au for my ocs where they're in that movie but like
the movie is not a disney movie and is in fact probably rated R
and Lainey is the descendant of robin hood
while Drug is the descendant of yzma, wherein some of the potion that turned her into an adorable kitty tyrant carried on to her daughter, giving Drug the cat-like traits that are generally explained by her demonic descent
like there were so many layers of drama in that au and I don't think I can recreate them even high -
that's not gonna stop me from trying though

1. Robin Hood's Legacy
Robin Hood was a great hero, don't get me wrong. I'm all for robbing the rich to serve the poor. And in his story, public opinion of him was very positive. He was a hero, but only to the poor. The rich would see him as a villain. So while he may have been allowed to stay in the happy hero land of Descendants because the climate of his individual story painted him as a hero, the rich, which is the vast majority of other characters in that universe because most of them are Descendants of queens, would see his descendant, who is now a senior in high school and easy prey, as unworthy. Lainey would have been ostracized from society and most of her peers for her heritage. This gives Lainey a people-pleaser personality as she seeks validation and acceptance in a society that overwhelmingly hates her. I am writing Descendants fanfiction instead of my actual story that I'm trying to publish.
