so I like this guy(we'll call him ralph) and so ralph and me became friends a bit ago and Ralph's ex broke up with him in January. I started liking him for a while now and he said three weeks ago he didn't know me well enough to decide. three weeks later I'm being told he does from one of my friends because he's texted her things like 'her laugh is pretty darn cute can't lie' and has told me I look good and at 3am one time accidetnly said I was 'gorgeous' and he said he never calls anyone gorgeous. also I was like 'screw you' and my friend said 'ralph would love that I bet' and ralph was like 'I mean-' and made that eye gesture and I dont' know if he's joking with me or not and I hate this. is he being a nice friend or not? he stays up with me all night when I can't sleep as well.

I think he's just being a good friend but my other friends don't think so. plus we both can't date for another year so that adds to it so I don't want to start anything I just want to know if he does or not. because he's being confusing and I don't wanna keep leading myself on. I know the answer will be if he ever tells me but idk.

I'm not sure how old you are but there are a few things that could be going on here.
1) homie really does like you but is coming out of a relationship, some guys don't wanna steady soon after. so he might like you but would tell you because he's scared to commit
2) homie doesn't like you like that but is fond of you, so he's being a good friend that you have to tell to back off a little bit because his actions confuse you
3) he really likes you but is scared to tell you so you may have to dig when you feel comfortable -
Hmmm I don't know what to respond to like this, but it sounds like he likes you.
Look up "Just A Friend To You" by Meghan Trainor. It's (kind of) relatable to what you're (probably) going through.
