Personally, when I told my parents I was LGBTQ last year, they said that it was just modern society being manipulative and that I was confused and going through a phase and by 7th grade, it would wear off.
Boy were they wrong.
I'm still LGBTQ, and I'll be in 8th grade next year. -

My parents are kinda a little bit homophobes. Like when I'm not around, sometimes I'll hear them talk trash about my society.

Whenever I read the subtitle of the thread, I always think 'No requirements except you have to be LGBTQ.'

There really is no requirements. There's just rules, and the rule is that you can't be a homophobe.
