Communion is a sacrament that was instituted by Jesus on Maunday Thursday. He gave us his body and blood to eat and to drink in with and under the bread and the wine. All four are present. The bread, wine, body and blood.

You eat both the bread and body, and drink both the wine and the blood. But we practice closed communion, so it's only available to those within our faith.
