Kaylee's family is a strict military family. Her father served in the army, and her mother was a military nurse. Bruce(Kaylee's father) met Joan(Kaylee's mother) when Joan had to treat him of a leg injury. He served four years, and had been injured multiple times. They fell in love, and when Bruce was out of service, Joan quit her job. In the two year period of them being out together, Joan got pregnant with Kaylee. Bruce stayed with her until Kaylee was born, but said that God was calling him to battle for the citizens of the US. So, Bruce went back into the military and served. When Joan felt she was able to work, she got a job as a doctor. Bruce came in and out of Kaylee's life, but Joan made sure Kaylee knew her father. Joan always told Kaylee how serving in the military is the best thing to do when she's older. Joan believed that everyone should be aiding or in the military at some point in time to be a true American citizen. So, Joan put Kaylee through vigorous training starting at a young age to show Kaylee how to be in the military. Kaylee excelled at everything, and with her father being well known, she got a couple of advantages in the military.
