Addison relaxed a bit, but remained tense. "Who are you working for?" she asked suspiciously. "What do you want from me?"

"I... I... they..." Addison felt the prick of tears in her eyes. "I...." she gave up and let the sobs come at full throtle.

I brushed the bloody, Matted hair out of her face. I looked back toward Ig and Gazzy. Appearently they had started roastin' Weiners.

Addison finally found the will to trust this girl. She pulled back her bangs that normally covered her eyes and pointed to a bright red black and blue scar with black stitches still evident. "My...dad.... shot me there when I was twelve..."

I gasped, So did Ig (A shocker), Fang (Another shocker), Gazzy, Angel and Total sneezed.

"You see..." Addison wiped her teary eyes with her fist in a sad attempt to stop the tears from continuing to flow. "He was a scientist... The one who did all those tests on you... And he knew I wouldn't cooperate... and..." A flashback ran through her head. Screaming, crying, yelling. "Daddy, no!" The split ring of a gun shot through the air. Blood, screaming, pain, blackness. It was then Addison realized that she was breathing hard and her palms were sweaty. She avoided the gazes of the other birdkids and sighed. "I said I'd rather die than be his little lab rat. I meant it... And now I'm still alive. That's what I hate. My stupid healing ability. I wanted to die... And I may never be able to."

I thought struck me. Did Jeb do anything to her? Is he even with them?
Fang gave me a disaproving look. Followed by a worried glance from Angel. -
Addison watched as the others exchanged disapproving glances. They didn't believe her. They thought she was one of the scientists. "I'm sorry if you don't believe me..." she started. Then she met Fang's eyes and stopped.

Fang looked at Iggy, Of course, Iggy couldn't look back. He brushed his finger tips against Addison. Angel sent me a thought. Max, I believe her.. But, Would Jeb hurt her?

Addison felt the brush of Iggy's fingertips against her. She sighed and said at barely a whisper, "I was born a normal kid. When I was four my dad brought me to the lab. He said I was his little angel, and that I was getting my wings. He never said they were going to be real. He works for that head scientist, Jeb, I think his name was. My dad said my mom died when I was a baby. It was later on when I developed my powers that I saw what really happened..." Addison couldn't help but want to confide in these people. They knew how she felt, and she could tell. She'd read them and knew they'd become close friends in the future. We have to stick by eachother, our kind. Someday we'll have to fight a battle bigger than ourselves, bigger than anything we've known. She thought. She didn't know that anyone could hear what she was thinking.

(by the way, I finished my book. And yush, I've been hinting off too be on like, The 3rd book, but ish only on the second.)
Jeb.... JEB! He's traded on us again... What is wrong with him? I thought he would be knocked into sanity. Dream on, Max.
