Like the body of the dead turkey for thanksgiving. We don't get the head though
A food pantry is something run by churches or schools that have supplies like food, sauce, toilet paper, bottled water, etc to families who are poor for free. Sometimes you go to the pantry sometimes it's delivered. Some give more supplies to big families like mine -
The turkey is white
-
I mean the mac and cheese?
Ooooh!
This is going to sound dumb, but what exactly is thanksgiving? I know of it just nothing about it.
Oh, I think we have the equivalent to that hear, though we’re supposed to only hand in canned foods, and non perishables, they collect around harvest. -
Turkey I should pretty good, though I think it’s kind of plain, I’m not a lover of cranberry, but I do like leftover sandwiches.
-
Oh it was not completely yellow because my grandma cut cheddar cheese
I hate turkey I think it's dry and gross.
Thanksgiving is only an American holiday, so I'm not surprised you don't know about it. It's just a family dinner where we are thankful for what we have. Usually turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and potatoes are served. -
Also yeah we usually get canned things and non perishables, but since it's a holiday they give us turkey
-
I could maybe suggest a way to make it taste better?
Like Christmas?
( personal experience, since my Great uncle brings a gammon every year, and then my grandad buys a turkey, my mum does the starters, I think the vegetables and last year I did the starters! I felt proud of myself!) we’d have turkey, the gammon, some mixed vegetables, potatoes , pigs in blankets, which apparently are different in America and don’t contain bacon or sausage?
Starter for adults + me - my dad is prawn cocktail, which is actually super cheap and easy to make, you can make the sauce by mixing ketchup and mayonnaise, though I think it tastes different because it isn’t the complete same?
Stuffing isgood! -
That's an interesting and unique meal.
-
Yeah, I’m very lucky honestly.
I have a big family, but a small close family? With two parents and one brother. I think Christmas won’t be as great this year, it’s the first without my gran, but my second cousins are coming up so that’s always neat.
What would you do for Christmas? -
Well, we are up and wait eagerly to go downstairs for presents, open presents, and then family comes over. Sometimes they fight, sometimes they dont. Sometimes my biological parents come over and I get salty. I don't remember what we eat for dinner. Oh and my grandma makes cinnamon rolls which is HUGE because my grandma doesn't make breakfast
-
Is it ok if I tell you our routine for Christmas? I feel like I, being rude.
Would this maybe make turkey taste better to you?
!
Also leftover turkey can be an easy supplement for chicken in soup and stuff! Tastes just a little different, I’d maybe fill it with carrots or potatoes ( those are pretty cheap in my country, and taste good in a nice warm chicken and rice soup.) -
How is that rude? It's a conversation.
Hmm idk maybe
I guess -
I’m not sure if any of these are even helpful, but I’d suggest if you ever get the chance to, start a herb garden, nothing fancy maybe some like basil or that other one that grows on the window? -
Yeah.
So what's your Christmas like -
I just wanted to make sure you didn’t feel like I was gloating.
Ok so my brother and I wake up at an ungodly hour, like we don’t set an alarm, we just wake up at like seven, our parents will Ben like
“ go back to sleep.”
We go “ no.” Then we dump our stockings on their beds, usually someone accidentally sits on my dad’s knee.
We open the little mindings, I usually get a hairbrush, and I’m glad because we loose them ( my mum uses them but forgets to give it back.)
Then everyone will go to the bathroom, 5is takes forever btw,
There will be a slight argument over “ don’t you go down one more stair!” And then we’ll make it downstairs!
My brother and I will run into the living room and I’ve to our chairs ( they switched our chairs one year and I’ve been complaining since, but yeah I like my new chair.)
The presents will be either on the chair or around it.
We’ll open the presents, take some photos,
Dad will have a bit of a nag.
Mum will say “ u can’t wear pyjamas to grans.” And I’ll say “ Uggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.”
Then go and put on my actual clothes / I think she’s been more leninat because I don’t remember changing last year?
We’ll go over to my granny and grandads, my mums parents, and they give us giant bags!
The bags I think are a little unesacerry, they give us some chocolate and then some other things, and I love the big bags, even if they are really hard to move because they come up to my belly button!
Then present exchanges of my two aunts, my two adult cousins will occur.
Then we get breakfast! ....admittedly I stress everyone out by not being able to eat a lot!
We pull some crackers, make awful jokes, and I usually play my ds, or something like that.
Then my cousins and aunts and uncles come over to our house, and see what we got ( hint ; I usually f--- off upstairs.)
Sometimes we go to my cousin C’s not always tho.
Then we take our stuff upstairs.
A few hours later we’re off to my grandads house for dinner, we give him his presents and he’s gives us ours, and my Great uncle will give us presents, usually from his travels I think?
He usually gets a model train!
Though sometimes my dad’s cousin and her duaghter ( and one year, and this year the cousins husband) will come up which is always cool, they’re from London.
Then we eat dinner, I usually argue with jack, not always, then I’m full,
Then there’s cake,
Then I eat cake.
Oh no I’m sick.
f---,
Then we go home,
Then it’s Boxing Day! I think?
We go to my aunts for that, I eat all of their soup and just sit in the weird area that’s in their new kitchen but not?
