What's a good amount of money to ask for yard work?
I helped plant stuff, clear weeds, etc. but I'm not experienced so it's taken me longer. I was thinking $5 an hour or a flat rate of something around $20-$40? (So far it's been 2 1/2 hours) -

According to your rate, it should be $15 by now.
Ask for $20.
It's a low rate.
Plus, if they loved your work and on top of that if you provide better work quality under less rate, you'd have a demand in the market...
Which means you'll get more chances for making money.
If you have other plans, well this is just an opinion.
