you should watch A Silent Voice if you ever get the chance
it's not a shonen but it is beautiful and sweet and it makes me cry more than any other movie I've ever watched -
I saw it last year, it was a beautiful film. It got me tearing up at the end ;-;

for some reason it always makes me cry a lot, every time. I don't know what it is about it
but yeah watching something sad usually helps me feel better if I need to cry and haven't in a long time -
It's a very touching story, very hard not to cry while watching it.
I listen to some of my favorite emo and skramz bands when I need to cry, but lately the tears don't flow. However sad movies do the job, I recently rewatched a movie called Boys in the Trees. That movie always kills me -
