Thread Topic: i need some advice
-
a mama cat abandoned her 2 week old kittens that were under my house. i have them in a small box in a warm room. i feed them + wipe them every 4 hours and leave them when i sleep.
at a month old, when i have them tame, i'll start weaning them + feeding them soft food. i'll keep them in a rabbit cage outside until they can eat solid food. since i'm not allowed to keep cats inside, i'll let them outside (a safe environment with other cats besides occasionally having a dog) & play with/hold them whenever possible.
is this a good idea? does anyone have any tips or pointers to help me care for tortie and quentin? -
*dies of too much adorableness + ohmygod tortie and quentin ðŸ˜ðŸ˜*
That sounds good. I don't know much about taking care of cats but sounds like you have it all planned out. It's just, is it really safe to keep them outside? -
uwu
yeah, i think so. our back porch has a gate on it so the dog cat get to them & they'll be fed & watered constantly. when they can eat solid food i'll let them go out, & possibly call around to see if any relatives want one.
theres about 2 or 3 more in another litter but theyre taken care of. -
I think you got it covered then. ðŸ‘
If I lived anywhere near you, I'd take one. -
yep, these kittens are 2-3 weeks old and 7 week old kittens should begin eating dry food. its a lot of work till then, but i'll make it.
i wish!!! i want to keep a few tamed but as well give some away.. last year, we had around 20 cats (11 residents, 9 come and go, all feral) and now we have about 11 - 12 cats ( 10 residents, 2 come and go, 2 tame, rest are feral) so theres been a very big cutdown on cat numbers recently. -
We're planning to get a kitten. Sounds like I'll take some advice from you when we do. :3
What happened? -
alright!! i was raised around animals of all sorts + im going to college for veterinary care.. so come to me if you need any tips. :)
lots of stuff. a dog pack came through & killed or drove off most of them, any pet cats in the area either left or were taken back by their people, cats that wandered away could have been poisoned or shot, & lots were ran over. -
Okay. ^-^
😨 -
yeah ik but in a matter of weeks they're replaced, lol

And I thought it was tough for cats out here.. 😓
People out here just dump cats away from home when they can't handle them. -
people here tend to have dogs & outdoor cats, so the cats come to our sanctuary think for :
1. food
2. shelter
3. potential mates
4. protection from predators -
My grandma had a cat who was always pregnant. .-.
Gtg, night. -
