I'm looking for ideas to make some money outside of work. A friend of mine has been struggling for a long time and it looks like she's at the lowest she's ever been, so I want to help her before something bad happens to her. And by bad I mean she's been lacking the will to keep living. We don't want to lose her over this.
She's afraid of losing her home, or ending up in jail because she can't afford student loans.
I don't expect anyone to necessarily help other than give me some options on how to raise some funds. -
GoFund me is an easy way. If you're able to spread it around, people on the Internet may donate. Especially if you get it out through Facebook, where you have family and friends that are willing to help.
Another idea is selling your own wares. Art, baked goods, clothing, something that you have hand crafted that you can sell. If you haven't already been sharing that talent for money, getting some will be slow at first, but as the cause (or the amazing quality) gets recognized, you'll eventually get a steady flow of money from that.
You can also ask if anyone is looking for temporary "house maids" or for someone to help you clean out/up the house? This usually goes well with family and friends but you can try going local (neighborhood) to see if anyone is in need of help with their home. -
Oh and these are some fundraising ideas for those who don't have a lot of money to share. Maybe you can have people in your workplace(s) get involved in some of these.

Another friend wants to help, I might ask if she wants to walk dogs or something.
I've thought about a GoFundMe, may still consider making one. I just need to figure out what exactly to say.
I've also thought about making a patreon because I can set a monthly goal.
Hopefully we can figure something out and get it to work, if even a little bit. -
Walking dogs is a good place to start. Especially if you can find people willing to let you do that for weeks/months. Even if it's just $5 a day or something.

There's a lot of dog owners around here. Although, sometimes dogs aren't that friendly to strangers regardless. Something we could still try at least.
