Okay.
We arrived at the address. It was a rather large farm/ranch. It had several small houses, barns, pens, and cages. It looked almost like a village. A woman with pale black hair in dark blue denim overalls and a "Speak up, I can't hear you" shirt was harvesting peaches. When I held up the paper, she motioned for us to follow her. -
I followed The lady, and Janice. Oh my, what have I gotten myself into? Eh, better than never seeing my friend.
"Wow. It's just huge here." I mumbled. -
She lead us into one of the houses. It was a small cozy house with fold-up beds on springs, and a small rabbit-eared TV in the kitchen. On the door was a schedule of work periods and jobs. The lady lead us to the kitchen, where she made tea and introduced herself.
"Thank God you two arrived, we barely had enough people for all of the work. I'm Caroline, by the way. Heres the deal, our village provides you with this house, some of the food, and work. We pay in crops, rather than money. Wake up at 5AM, start work at 6, and keep working to 8, taking breaks every now and then." -
I stared at Janice. Giving the 'WHAT IN GODS NAME?' Look. I mouthed 'No money.' and I hoped she understood. "Wow, busy schedule." I said turning back to Caroline. Huuuh... No money.. But it is a house.

I was a little concerned about the 'we pay in food rather than money part' but hey, it was a good start.
We finished our tea and Caroline went back to working. I turned to Beck.
"What do you think?" I asked -
"Well, it isn't money, but it is a house, more clothes, and at least some exercise." I smiled, I had a thing for adding humor.

"Its a good start." I finished, summarizing the thought. "We'll start working tomorrow, lets spend the rest of the day settling in, deal?"

"Deal it is. So... what do we do first?" I said, looking around the small house. It was nice, painted light blue on the inside.

"Lets start with what we have from home."
Taking the gym bag that I had brought from home, I began to unpack. Beck and I divided the drawers. -
We put the clothes in the 1st and 2nd drawer, shoved the remaining cash in the slit in the back, and shoved the map and a few other papers in the 3rd drawer. There were only 3 drawers

The evening arrived soon. To get at least some shut eye, Beck and I went to sleep on the fold-up beds at 9PM. We set 4 alarm clocks for 5AM, and fell asleep.
I'm gonna have to leave in about 15 mins -
