through years of evolutionary and biological effects the women have always centered as the caregiver (as they have the reproductive organs to carry an infant), are physically weaker ( and have much more of a compassionate, humane, and moralistic approach on situations (on average, yes I am aware that some women are stoic and less petty, but that's based on personality and impressions from their early childhood) and that men are seen as the assertive caretaker (offering financial stability to the family)
a change in western ideals contrasts that, such as some men are much more feminine (because of personality and social exchange and conditioning), a two-income household (women going off to work), and the overacceptance of people's strange behaviors and character, but we cannot just say gender is a social construct when it has been deeply ingrained in us from our archaic ancestors and has evolved throughout time
