If you don't know, I'll try to explain what Vo-Tech is. To my understanding, the Vo-Tech center is a place where people can go to take classes for various things. They have things as simple as cooking classes, but they also have other classes, like computer classes, mechanic classes and nursing classes.
Some of these centers also have programs for high school students that the students can take during high school. This can allow the students to get certain certifications in whatever field they're studying. It also gives them a chance to work right out of high school and through college.
I applied for the Legal Office Services program. This program will basically teach me how to be a legal secretary. I have a lot of reasons for why I chose this class and how it will help me to become a lawyer in the future. And in the event that being a lawyer falls through, I would be set to become a paralegal.
So one of the two Vo-Tech representatives was on campus today. I visited her during lunch to ask a few questions and she went ahead and interviewed me right there. She was very impressed with my test scores (on the pre-ACT) and we figured out a way to fit the program into my schedule (the courses take up three hours a day and continue through two years). I pretty much nailed the questions, excepting the one about teamwork but ai think I was able to pull through. She said my chances of getting in are pretty good, and that it really depends on how many people apply. Luckily, not a lot of people apply to that specific course, so my chances are pretty high.
I'm really sorry for rambling, I'm just very excited and pumped up. I'm supposed to receive a letter sometime after Spring Break to see if I got in or if I'm on the waiting list. I'm very nervous and very excited. -
