What if the one true love's the only one that you get?
And you've been wishing but you don't know how to stay
And I've been broken but I'm better every day
So don't stop, no stopping it yet
What if the one true love's the only one that you get? -
??? Dating who?

it's a good thing I have an appointment today because I can literally feel myself ready to snap. My shoulders are so tense and my sensory overload is messing me up, bad.

So, that was interesting. New therapist, tiiiiiny room.
Old guy, mid-sixties, I'd say. We were in the old hospital, same building my dad was born in. Kinda surreal, really. No A/C.
There were three crosses, one made of stone, with words carved into it. Probably bible verses. Another, clay, with one side mangled badly. It hung on his wall next to the third, a chunky piece of wood clearly painted by a child. He also had a bible, which he introduced to me as 'Stan, the Bible.'
It was... Odd. I'm going back next Tuesday, I guess. -
Songs that inspired Serai:
Who Do You Love - Marianas Trench
"When I get back on my feet, I'll blow this open wide and carry me home in good health"
"From fable to fumble, from stable to stumble, nevermore
I'll say goodbye to my demons and all my break-evens"
"I won't come back to you broken, I won't stay away too long
Even if words I've spoken seem to still come out wrong
I'll get my s--- back together, get right where I belong"
East - Sleeping at Last
"I set out to rule the world
With only a paper shield and a wooden sword.
No mountain dare stand in my way,
Even the oceans tremble in my wake.
The tide is brave, but always retreats.
Even the sand, it cowers under my feet.
My kingdom towers above it all,
While I sleep safe and sound in my cardboard walls.
Now I bear little resemblance to the king I once was.
I bear little resemblance to the king I could become." -
"It once was so easy;
Breathe in, breathe out.
But at the foot of this mountain,
I only see clouds.
I feel out of focus,
Or at least indisposed
As this strange weather pattern
Inside me takes hold.
Each brave step forward,
I take three steps behind.
It's mind over matter -
Matter over mind." -
I have never been so in love with a character of mine. I'm working on a snippet of his backstory, and I'm so excited.
!!! Because he rescues this dramatic merboy who got tangled in fishing lines, but the boy knows that he's the runaway prince and tells someone, and Serai gets taken home kicking and screaming and he's just. so angry. so bitter, because of what happened to him after, and he hates the merboy, with all of his heart, truly, but then when he gets the thing fixed he goes and finds him and tries to tell him how angry he is but
b u t he's all "bro, go the f--- home" -
Can I even post here -

Marina, Cassian
"Blindly is based on a society that gravely misinterprets their ancestors stories, wrongly sacrificing hundreds of innocent children to a Goddess who never craved them. Their blind faith causes a tragic string of events, starting with Marina disguising herself as her brother so that he'll be sparred. Where Cassian is gorgeous and intelligent, talented in both arts and sports, Marina is the failure to his success. Still, she can't bear the thought of someone so perfect and with so much to offer the world being wasted and killed in such a horrible way.
Unable to convince Cassian to runaway and save himself, she drugs him, and with the help of his fiance, disguises herself as a boy. To be sure that Cassian will never be sacrificed, she blinds him. With the heavy veils placed over the human sacrifice, no one knows that Marina is the one about to be killed. The entire city is blind to what is to come.
Marina is killed. Cassian is woken by his fiance, confused and distraught, because he had been a willing sacrifice- He had seen it as the greatest possible honor. Blinded and disowned by his family, Cassian ventures into the desert, alone, trying to find some sort of closure.
When he returns home, the city is ruined. Temples have collapsed, killing many people. The river has flooded, sweeping away lively hoods. Storms and earthquakes have shaken the city to the bone. The goddess is outraged, and everyone is sure that Marina brought them this fate when she sacrificed herself.
Cassian, with the help of an elder priest and a temple maid, summons the Goddess. He is the only person who can speak to her, as he's blind. She demands that they end the killing of children, and that they instead turn their attention to her other demands- Caring for them, loving them, ect. Cassian's sight is restored, as a gift from his sister, who he briefly sees alongside the goddess.
Of course, no body believes him because hey, read the freaking scrolls, they clearly say she wants dead kids! So, Cassian is killed, as is his fiance, the priest, and the temple maid- All in the name of blasphemy. As a result, the goddess unleashes her rage, killing everyone but the children of the city, reincarnated herself and her husband in Cassian and Marina (little freaky, man) and basically starts a whole new society with the children." -
