Chapter One.
He remembered...
[i,,Go! Go! Go! Take the children and run!"[/i]
It was as clear as day...
,,Don't leave me."
But there was no day here...
[i,,I won't. I'll be right behind you."[/i]
It was just darkness.
Jack had already blinked open his eyes, and it was still dark. He squinted and looked around. As far as he knew, he was alone.
The young soldier stood up. ,,Hello? Can anybody hear me?" Only the soft wind answered him. But still... He knew somebody else was here...
,,Please! I lost my family, and I don't know where I am!"
,,You are safe," a lady's voice whispered. It seemed to come out of nowhere. Like it was in his thoughts. Determined, Jack kept talking.
,,Where am I exactly? Do you know where my wife and children are? Do you know if they're safe?"
,,Yes. They are secure. Would you like me to show you?"
Jack smiled at the thought. ,,Yes! Take me to them!" A moment of silence passed. ,,Very well."
Something swirled in front of Jack, giving the strange world he was in light. It became a picture; a picture so clear that Jack thought he was staring right at his family's faces.
He watched as a nurse treated them in a hospital. So they were safe. Good. ,,Now please tell me where I am!" The picture turned and swirled into a darker sight.
It was a picture of monsters.
,,Wha-What is-" The voice interrupted him.
,,Seaers will shake and tremble. Landers will run and hide. The Earth will slip and tumble. Only one will be able to survive."
