I would say that back then it was less hell and much more interesting. Now everything is just solidified, mundane, all the rules just restrict anything of colorful existence. Was it a little bit unlawful? Yes, but some people liked that. I heavily disagree with the moderators, heavily on some subjects, but I feel like they are one of the causes on why this site is just boring.

I think there should be a limit to lock threads like when the threads are bumped for more than one day.
