Don't ever act like anything but who you are and how you feel. If you hide your true feelings, no one will ever know what's wrong. It might be tough telling someone the truth, but the truth can save you from a lot of fights and break ups.

Well, you need to tell him that. If he doesn't know that he hurt you, he'll be very confused that you're calling him a dick. Often, people turn to joking when a friend is upset, because they don't know how to react and they think cheering people up is the best thing they can do.
