My orientation for my junior year is on the eight. I already have a pretty good idea of what my schedule will look like, but I'm thinking about changing one of my classes.
For the past two years, I've taken AFJROTC. My freshman year, it was amazing. It felt wonderful to be involved in the program, and I did a lot of community service through it. I love military ball and all the field trips, and I even got a little pride out of wearing my uniform each Wednesday.
Last year, though, I got thrown into a flight with people I just couldn't click with. I spent the majority of the year hating every second of it. There was so much drama and it was just ridiculous.
It's a student run class, and the people who will be in charge this coming year all belong to the same group that was in command this past one.
But, I still love ROTC because.. It's a great program. Their morals are amazing and I love pushing myself to go higher in the chain of command. It's a good program, and I really will miss it. It feels alien to know that I'll be switching out of it, even though it's something I need to do to avoid suffering. It'll suck, not being a part of it.
That said, the class I'll be switching into is a new program- Young Child Care or something like that. Basically education on raising babies! I like kids, and I'm sure it'll be an easy class. But I feel like I'd be wasting my time with a credit I don't need. ROTC would look good on college applications as well as job applications. It and Drama are the only things I'm really involved in.
So..
Should I stick with ROTC and see how it goes, and switch out after the first week (that's how it works at my school) if I decide I can't tolerate it?
Or should I make sure I get switched into the other class before school starts, because the first week is pretty important? -
Personally, I would stick to ROTC and switch out. Everyone I have ever meet really liked it.

There's the fact that one of the only things my dad is proud of me doing is being in ROTC.
But that's a double edged sword. He thinks I'm going into the military.. Which I'm not. They don't even have an ROTC program at the colleges I'm going to. -
I'm still debating-
