and by "the waiting game", naturally I mean the "make s--- happen I wanna know" game

The Burden (interlude) reminds me of when I was little
it reminds me of the darker parts so it shouldn't make me feel so comfortable but they were an undeniable part of the past
and in some way, the present -
I guess it's different now because the song reminds me of the muted sounds of conflict finding their way down the hallway and through the closed door to torment me while I lay in bed with the blankets pulled over my head trying to pretend I was anywhere else but there

oh, right. I forgot to say why it's different. These days, I don't have to stay quiet and pray it ends soon. I feel so lucky that I don't ever have to stay put anymore.

Today, some kind of monster tried to sneak up on me and sink its teeth into my ankles. I got in my car and drove for miles and it fell behind in just moments.

This is probably not an ideal solution for someone like me. I am not a safe driver. I race anyone that seems to be trying to pull ahead of me, and forget about overtaking me.
