I granted your wish in exchange for you to help rid this world of sadness and despair. You were given more powers than you even asked for, for the sake of helping others.
I suppose I should make it clear, I'm not a cat. I am what is called an Incubator. Your soul gem contains your actual soul, Mabel Pines. And as you work to help others, you'll slowly become tainted with their sadness.
But isn't that a small price to pay? -

Are you kidding? He didn't tell you this for a reason. You should have been made aware of that before you made the contract. What does that even mean, being tainted by their sadness? -
It means eventually her soul will be enveloped in despair, and some day, probably far from now, she'll turn into what is classified as a "Witch", a being if despair.
