I used to have the same problem at home till we found out that one of the cordless phone was interfering with the router

Ok I see. Maybe u should tell ur dad to check out the wireless outer source some time if you have lots of devices connect it to it the signal frequency isnt enough for all the devices you till signal but is a low signal. That why is recommend it to change the router channel to the higher one.
