My boyfriend has the tendency to skip school and he tells me that he has been coming to school but..
Our school has an online attendance record and gradebook for Parents. The only thing is, his parents don't care that much, and they never made an account for him. So I wound up doing so..
In two months, he's missed 16 days.
SIXTEEN.
I feel guilty for making one behind his back

he's been lying to me. -
You absolutely cannot leave this be.

I don't know how to approach the situation, however.
"Hey, Joey. I know this is strange but I got you a Genesis account and I see you've missed over two weeks of school!" -
Tell him you've noticed he hasn't been around. Don't mention the Genesis account. Say that you're hoping he's not lying and that you aren't seeing things. See if he says the truth.

He made a promise in the beginning of October to keep going to school but we see how that goes. -
I know a guy who's been absent for over 20 days. Our school said we had to be there for 90% of the time or they'd send their police knocking at our doors ready to say we aren't going to graduate without having a reason for being gone.
