Calmer, solemn, dejected.
After all these years of knowing that song, I find this.
A newer version that reflects exactly how I feel now.
Once where I had the fire of predictive certainty, a certainty that something is coming, and raging to prevent...
Now, it is a serene certainty, of times long past. It's over now. I did not prevent it, it came to fruition, despite my efforts.
The battles are over, the silence hangs low like a dense fog.
The war is lost.
It is not that I will fail you, anymore.
It is that I have failed you, and that is something I can never fix, the past sits like stone, immutable. -
I'm quickly getting to the point where I'm afraid soon I'll have more bad memories in this place than good. I need to leave, but I don't have any way of supporting myself somewhere else. I don't know what to do.
