  To be fair, I've never actually asked if I could sit at their table...they've just never talked to me :( And I'm just like them!

  A true nerd would start studying right after his/her exam is finished. :D a nerd is someone who's hobby is to study. Whenever you get free time you open a book and start studying. Never taking a break from it. I'd say a nerd is usually, mentally advanced, but socially awkward -- meaning, they're usually really intelligent, but they don't relate to other people very well -- they have different interests -- not into all the "typical" stuff, sports, dances etc -- so they're kind of left out and they get labeled as a nerd... nerd are the ones that go on to become Bill Gates
  
  Now if you want to be a geek...
  
  Nerds are usually associated with geeks with no social skills.
  
  Geeks are people who are people who's brilliant in a certain technical area, but it doesn't necessarily mean they are socially inept. A person could be a computer geek while still have a social life.
  
  Nerd is when they (a geek) are socially drawn back.
  
  
  So unless you have those qualities please don't call yourself a nerd. Not tring to sound mean...
