"I'm Desdemona Kaliope, Deka for short." Deka replied, offering a hand.

"Cool name." she said, "So where to now?" Kyari asked, not entirely sure where to go if she couldn't return to the forest. Little Gilbird tilted his head and sniffed the salty sea air.

"I honestly have no idea." Deka said, scratching her head. "How far away do you live?"

Kyari pointed in the direction of a nearby woods, "I live alone in a small cottage in there, my parents abandoned me when they found out I could do this." she she said, holding up her arm and the vines slightly moving.

"Oh, well I don't live to far away. You could stay there for a bit, just until you know it's safe." Deka suggested.

"Thanks but I don't want to be a burden. and Neither does Gilbird." Kyari said, Gilbird quacking on Deka's shoulder.

"You'd be no burden at all. Besides, it'd be nice to have someone else in the house." Deka said.

Kyari smiled, then looked over at Gilbird, "What do you think ducky?" she asked, Gilbird quacked happily, "Thank you." she said.

Deka smiled back, and turned in the direction of her house. "Alrighty, off we go!"

"Righty-o!" Kyari replied, following behind with Gilbird on her head this time.

After a few minutes worth of walking, the three came to a one story house a few miles away from town. "Here we are! Home sweet home."

"Nice house." Kyari said, looking directly at the house, Gilbird quacked happily.

"Thanks." Deka replied, openeing the front door and walking inside. The living room was furnished with a small couch, a couple of recliners, and a small t.v. set.
