He knew that in a second the boy would go into the water and get the thing for the girl. He blinked back tears and stood up. He walked to the house slamming the door.

Jill was woken up by the slamming door. She groaned and crawled under the covers.

Carter sat down on the bed his head in his hands. " Damn Jill......"

Jill sat up. "What?" She looked over at carter.

" They wont go away." He lay down and pulled her to him resting his chin on her head.

"I'm so sorry. They will soon. You just miss them, that's all." She frowned, knwoing that he felt bad.

"I don't know why....I feel like they are-" his eyes fell on a head peeking over the window. Black curly hair. "Sage...."

"Like they're.....?" Jill said, attempting to get words out of him.

He frowned and pointed at the window.

"I still don't see anything." She said, looking at the window.

He frowned and leaned back pulling her close to him

Jill smiled and yawned. She fell back asleep.

He fell asleep. No dreams.

Jill rolled over onto her back in her sleep.

He woke to Torren shaking him. "Happy birthday Carter."
