I walk towards them, but I am suddenly pulled away by my friends and they start to shoot baskets. I shrug and join in.

I start to drink water slowly jealous of how happy everyone seems to be.

I check my watch to see the time. In two minutes I have to leave, I think.

I finish my bottle and head down and throw it away.

I sit to take a break. -

I go back to the bleachers and take out my phone. -
The announcements come on, saying my name and telling me to go to the office.

I got a missed call from my father."f---." I curse under my breath.

When I get there, they pull me in. They whisper to me, "Have you noticed anything strange about Skylar? I'm only asking because you two seem to bump into each other and talk." "Um, no... why?" "Around her arms, even?" "No."

I grab my backpack and leave, I pass the office and look at Mike until I open the doors and leave ditching school.

"That was her." I turn around to see Skylar, and she leaves in an instant. I remember when we first bumped into each other. "Wait. I have seen scars on her arm and wrist..." I run out and follow Skylar.

I'm walking to my dad's car and get in the passengers seat and close my door.I kiss him on the cheek and smell wine and alcohol followed by a hint of weed, and I sit back.

I see her get in a car with a man who looks like he used various drugs.

He puts the gear in drive and we go home."Who was that boy?" He says with a sloppy harsh cold voice "He.. he's just a friend." I reply in a whisper, I can predict what he's about to do.
