I like deep music mucho better than literal, by the looks of you guys, yall like literal music better, why? it really has no deeper meaning to it, considering most of that top 10 crap is literal and meaningless,
literal singers:
Taylor Swift
Katy Perry
PCD
Justin Beiber
Jo-Bros
etc. etc.
what do they all have in common eh? -
tongue NewbieDeep is better. I can't write deep though. I can write meaningful songs, but they're pretty literal.

tongue NewbieActually, I like impressionistic lyrics- that is not so much about meaning but just emotion, kind of. Deep but technically not really meaningful. Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam does this, as does Bono from U2, most notably in "Beautiful Day".

i write deep. atleast.. thats what everyone says. i just take my passion for writing and put it into song writing and now i am working on song number 28. i htink i might call it fate has fallen.... or something like that.
