Asking Alexandria, Bullet for My Valentine, any number of other bands. My gripe is not that they're too melodic, because I listen to melodic bands. My gripe is that this is what people think metal is, but it isn't metal. By the most basic definition it is, only because the guitars are loud and the tempos are fast. But the songwriting is just so slick and uninspired, it feels no better than pop, and it doesn't help that the level of musicianship in these bands is at about the level of any high school kid who has been playing long enough. In a way their music feels corporate, like these bands got together just to cash in. They're no better than Nickelback.
