This is a good one. It’s an interesting story as well as just really pretty.

Rin and Len are either siblings or childhood friends. One day Len gets possessed by an evil katana and leaves Rin. Miku finds Rin who is searching for Len and joins her to protect her. The two fall in love. When they find Len, he attacks them, Miku fights him to protect Rin and gets killed in the process. Rin is heartbroken and takes Miku's blade and her own to slay Len and free him from the curse of the katana, resulting in her losing both her brother/friend and her lover.

Based on the Japanese folktale of the crane maiden or crane wife, the song tells a story about a crane (Rin) who was rescued by a man (Len) when hunting. Grateful, the crane visited him in her human form and the two fell in love and married. Scared and worried, if he found out she was a crane he would abandon her, so she asked if all those questions "what if.....". But one day the man fell sick, and because they were unable to afford medicine, the crane began to weave cloth with her own feathers and sell the cloth for money.
They both fell to death as Rin who could not afford medicine in the end and have overworked herself to death and Len who died of the illness. The ending scene was where Len helped Rin escape from the trap who knew that Rin was a crane the whole time and still loved her for that and for who she was.
