There is no creativity in it. You are just stealing someone else's song and redoing it..
One of my biggest rants is Centuries by Fall Out Boys. They took Suzanne Vegas voice and her song and twisted it into a modern day pop song... I find no justice in that. I think it is wrong. I think that without written permission you should not be able to do that...
You guys can disagree all you want, but I hate it when new day artists take old songs, really do them, and then get famous for them like they wrote it. -
They sampled her song (the dudududududu part) and she has even performed with them. A s--- ton of songs that you might like have certain things sampled from previously recorded songs. Suzanne obviously was okay the with sample and she has gained recognition for it as well. They heard it in Fall Out Boy, wanna hear the original take, and tada. It's almost a marketing flip.
