Why do people hate on actors, singers, and authors?
"Omg, One Direction is gay and I hate them!"
"You actually like Twilight? But those books are stupid! The author sucks."
"I hate that actor! They sucked in that movie."
It's just sad and disappointing. The fact that people these days cannot honestly say, "I don't like that person, but it's okay if you do." No, we have to hate. I have my own preferences. I prefer Owl City over One Direction. I like Imagine Dragons better than Bruno Mars. I'd rather read a book by J.R.R. Tolkien than a book by Stephanie Meyer. But I'm not gonna go around hating on others. I'll state my preferences, and stick to them until they change, but I'm not gonna go around beating up the things I don't like. I find it petty and immature when people do. Because, really, we should respect others- and especially celebrities. Why? Because they've gone far. They've found what they loved and pursued it, and became famous. So give them credit. You don't have to love them, but don't be a jerk. Go ahead, have your preferences and don't enjoy certain music, but don't hate on others for liking different styles. -
